The Dr. Oli Mohamed bin Abdul Hamid Memorial Lecture brought to you by The Farrash Foundation in ever loving memory of their Founding Chairman – a courageous advocate and a kind, hard working, generous father.
The primary objective of this Memorial Lecture is to become a platform in propagating positive messages to society. This is in line with the passion and relentless support that Dr. Oli Mohamed (May the Almighty have mercy on him) had cherished throughout his life.
The stronger one’s belief in religion, the more beneficial they should be to all of humanity. While there is a concept of brotherhood amongst Muslims, there is also a concept of universal brotherhood.
How do we prevent strong belief in one’s faith from developing into intolerance? Everyone should be accorded the same right to discover and practice what they believe to be true.
Allah said in the Quran that there is no compulsion in religion, and far be it for us to force our ways on anyone else. We must honor the right of a Buddhist, Christian and Hindu or anyone else to feel about their faiths as we feel about our own.
Despite the difference in beliefs, we must insist that we can work together to establish a society permeated with justice and  peace, and that we can subsequently coexist in a loving way.
One Humanity is a theme grounded on notions of peace, tolerance, inter-religious harmony, education, tackling extremism and engaging one another as a member of society drawing on similarities rather than emphasizing differences.
